07-09-2019 Who is Jean-Luc Ponty?

Discovered this guy by accident on YouTube while searching for 'Electronic Jazz Fusion' stuff; I am always interested in bands/artists from 'non-electronic' genres who experiment with synthesizers.

In the 80's there were actually a lot of Jazz bands who did this, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Yellowjackets, Herbie Hancock, Steps Ahead and many more...

Anyway, I especially like this guy - a french Jazz violinist - since he went a bit further, he not only used synthesized sounds, but he also did a lot of great sequencing, which you would only expect from the likes of somebody like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze or Steve Roach.
